Our vineyards are found in some of the finest wine regions in Mendoza.
Many years ago, the historic areas of Maipú and Luján de Cuyo put Argentina on the world wine map. Today, the Uco Valley has become internationally acclaimed as a fine wine region.
Altamira | Uco Valley
In the foothills of the Andes Mountains, Altamira lies to the mid west of the Uco Valley in La Consulta. It is planted with both red and white varieties. Tannins ripen well here due to abundant sunshine.
Altitude: 1,100m
Varieties: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Bonarda, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc
Average Vine Age: 14 years old
Soil Type: Altamira's soils are among the most varied in the Uco Valley. Formed by the alluvial fan of the Tunuyán river, they are a mix of sand, silt and stone. The gravelly topsoil provides good drainage for the vines.
Gualtallary | Uco Valley
Gualtallary is our highest-altitude site located to the north of the Uco Valley in Tupungato. This cool, sunny area has gained world renown for its refined yet intense red and white wines.
Altitude: 1,300m
Varieties: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc
Average Vine Age: 35 years old
Soil Type: Gualtallary has poor, stony and alluvial soils that are laced with layers of sand and limestone. This diverse combination forms free-draining soils that force vine roots to dig deep for water, resulting in more concentrated fruit.
Maipú | Mendoza
Maipú lies just south east of Mendoza city. Its landscape is defined by flat vineyards at high elevations with pockets of old-vine plantings. Low rainfall is compensated by a plentiful source of melted snow from the Andes Mountains.
Altitude: 800m
Varieties: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay
Average Vine Age: 35 years old
Soil Type: Over time, alluvial soil has been deposited along the banks of the Mendoza River from the Andes Mountains. These sandy, gravelly soils are low in nutrients – restricting vine vigour and producing concentrated fruit.
